This Privacy Policy explains how Phone Heat Detector (the “App”) handles information when you use it. The App is provided by an independent, individual developer (“we”, “us”, “the developer”), reachable at [email protected]. By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Information the App uses
- Device temperature & battery data (on-device). The App reads thermal and battery information exposed by your device — temperature, charge level, health status, voltage, charging status, battery technology, estimated capacity and current, charging sessions and estimated charge cycles. This data is stored locally on your device in the App’s private database to power the live temperature readout, dashboard, history and charts. We do not upload this data to our own servers.
- App usage (on-device). If you grant Usage Access, the App reads per-app foreground time from Android so it can highlight which apps are heating up your device on the Usage screen. This is read on demand and is not sent off your device.
- Analytics & diagnostics. We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring and Remote Config) to understand feature usage and to detect crashes and performance issues. These tools may collect device model, operating-system version, app version, language, coarse usage events and anonymous/pseudonymous identifiers.
- Advertising. We use Google AdMob to display ads. The advertising SDK may access your device’s Advertising ID and limited device information to serve and measure ads. You can turn off personalized ads in Settings → Ads.
- Notifications. With your permission, the App shows notifications about temperature, charging and battery health, and can receive push messages via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.
2. Permissions and why we request them
- Notifications — to alert you about high temperature, charging, low/full battery and the charging alarm.
- Foreground service (special use) — to keep monitoring your device’s temperature and battery while the App runs in the background.
- Display over other apps — to show the optional floating temperature bubble (Heat Guard) on top of other apps.
- Usage access — to show per-app foreground time and identify apps that heat up your device.
- Ignore battery optimizations — so background temperature monitoring is not interrupted by the system.
- Run at startup (boot completed) — to resume monitoring after your device restarts.
- Wake lock & vibrate — to sound and vibrate the charging alarm.
- Internet & network state — for ads, analytics and remote configuration, and to handle offline situations.
- Advertising ID — used by the ads SDK to deliver and measure ads.
3. How we use information
To operate and display temperature and battery insights, improve stability and performance, show and measure ads, and provide support.

5. Data retention
Temperature and charging history is kept on your device and is automatically cleaned after about 90 days. You can delete history at any time in the App, or remove all local data by uninstalling the App.
6. Your choices
- Turn notifications on/off in Settings or system settings.
- Turn off personalized ads in Settings.
- Revoke Usage Access or the “display over other apps” permission in system Settings at any time.
- Delete history in the History screen.
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data.
7. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required in your region) and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect data; sensitive local preferences are stored using encrypted storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
