AI Prompt Sanitizer is designed to help users detect, review, and mask sensitive information inside prompt text before it is submitted to supported AI websites. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is not collected.

1. What AI Prompt Sanitizer Does

AI Prompt Sanitizer scans prompt text entered by the user on supported websites in order to identify potentially sensitive content such as API keys, passwords, tokens, emails, phone numbers, IDs, connection strings, JWTs, private-key style secrets, and confidential wording. The extension then helps the user review and optionally mask that content before submission.

2. Data We Collect

AI Prompt Sanitizer does not collect, store, sell, or transmit personal data, prompt content, or sensitive information to our servers or to third parties.

Prompt analysis is performed locally in the user's browser for the extension's single purpose: prompt privacy protection before submission.

3. Data the Extension Accesses

In order to function, the extension may temporarily access the following data locally on the user's device:

• Text entered by the user into supported prompt input fields
• The current website URL or domain, only to determine whether the extension should run on that page
• User preferences such as enabled websites, masking settings, or extension configuration stored in browser storage

This access is limited to providing the extension's privacy protection features and is not used for tracking, profiling, advertising, or analytics.

4. How Data Is Processed

All detection, review, highlighting, and masking actions are performed locally within the browser. The extension does not send prompt text or detected values to a remote server for analysis.

5. Browser Permissions

AI Prompt Sanitizer may request browser permissions that are necessary for its single purpose. These may include:

• storage - to save local extension preferences and configuration
• activeTab - to operate on the current tab when the user invokes the extension
• scripting - to run the extension's scanning and masking features on supported pages
• Host permissions - limited to supported AI websites or user-approved domains where prompt protection is needed

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data to third parties except where required by law. We do not use user data for advertising, credit evaluation, lending decisions, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.

7. Data Retention

Since AI Prompt Sanitizer does not collect or store prompt content externally, there is no server-side retention of prompt data. Any saved settings remain in the user's browser storage until the user clears them or uninstalls the extension.

8. Security

AI Prompt Sanitizer is built to minimize data exposure by processing content locally. However, users should avoid entering highly sensitive information into websites or tools unless they trust those services and understand their policies.

9. Children's Privacy

AI Prompt Sanitizer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
